We do not require traditional "activity" check-ins, but we do require an interest check-in to ensure that our players are present and still interested in the characters they play.

You will be required to check-in during the 1-8th of the month. If you cannot access a computer during this time, please let a mod or friend know so they can check-in for you.

You must check in your individual characters. If you fail to check in with any characters, they will be swept from the game.

If you missed check-in due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the mods ASAP and let them know the situation.

We ask our players to be active in the game even without formal activity check requirements. If we notice any concerning patterns with the same players missing check-ins and being swept from the game or being irresponsible with check-ins or squatting we will contact the player directly. This may include restrictions from reapplication into the game or actual activity requirements.

Please respect your fellow players and mods! We want to keep this game activity-requirement-free and active.

Anatomy Of Check-In

Every player will have an overall check-in comment with their name as the subject line. Every character a player writes will have a comment with their name and fandom as the subject line. Each month, players need to post a comment under each character's comment with the month and year in the subject line.

Check-in Content

Check-in comments are IC only, and are required to include a minimum of one thing your character did this month. You're welcome to include more.

Formatting is your choice: sentences, bullet points, something else. We're not picky!

We do not want links to threads, OOC explanations, or apologies. Folkmore is a chill game, and it's completely fine to have not played much.

We welcome and encourage handwaving. Give us something your character did in the background or plans you have to back thread. Note handwaved interactions you discussed with other players. Many players use their check-in posts as records of important beats their characters experienced.

The bottom line is to show you have some OOC idea what is going on IC, even when you're not actively able to RP, to demonstrate your continued interest in the game with the character.

🔥 Baphomet gave Natasha one free outfit for dying back home in a while.
🔥 He freed K from the dragons by giving a performance in return. Little free emotional update.
🔥 Baphomet immediately left his safe space (his childhood home) behind for Tech, and the two were super drift compatible. More disruptive was the revelation that Baphomet's actually a familiar, not a myth. They talked about the future and whether the Myth-Familiar bond might save Baphomet's life. Baphomet also revealed that being vulnerable makes him vulnerable physically, which doesn't help with getting to know people.

🔥 Baphomet spent a good portion of the month recovering from his wounds received fighting his fear. He stayed with Viktor and Jayce in the apartment above the forge/their lab as well as with Tech at Tech's place so that he wouldn't be alone/make it worse/etc.
🔥 About uh things... Baphomet spoke with Vex about how he's doing at moving on from his last (bad) relationship from home and received her stamp of approval that he was ready to date. Cool. Fantastic. He had totally nooooooooooo one in mind. No one at all.
🔥 Tech realized he had feelings for Baphomet and confessed them. Baphomet stared like a deer in the headlights for a good minute before realizing that he likes Tech back. They are now boyfriends. He has a boyfriend? Wtf?
🔥 Baphomet hosted (provided the venue for) a vampire/outcast social event.
🔥 Baphomet rushed to Viktor's side when he collapsed and emergency re-grew him new lungs (again). He then came up with a plan to transplant Viktor's head onto a new body to solve the problem for good (hopefully). They need to work out some kinks.

🔥 Baphomet finished building the Spot, including all the routes to it. It can be a haven from trials since it's in the Underground and less likely (tho not zero risk) of being hit by them.
🔥 Baphomet became three-fold. A different underworld god power. With that, each form was a different role. All three Baphomets were one Baphomet. So he spent the month navigating being three people but one person and processing all that at once. One could always be found at the Spot. The other two... well, they tried to help in Willow and also with his own sanity. It was hard.
🔥 Perhaps most dramatically, Baphomet posted about his search for a body to do Viktor's head transplant. This made the plan public news to much reaction galore.
🔥 He flew with the Starlings and gained wings.
🔥 Baphomet followed an artificer slugcat, trading raw flesh constructs (aka meat) for explosives the cat made, until he met Scott Summers.

🔥 Early in the month, Baphomet became a couple years younger for a few days, losing his godhood and his memories of his parents' deaths. Cameron got to know Folkmore and get the vibe people expected bad things to happen to him.
🔥 Baphomet enjoyed the celebrations and showed off his fire powers.
🔥 Baphomet partook in the book adventures for a retelling of Hades and Persephone's story with Tech, which included forming a familiar bond.
🔥 Baphomet rescued bb!Rhys and bb!Marus who showed up in the Underground.
🔥 Baphomet performed a body swap for Viktor (to a body John Gaius grew from one of his arms... don't worry, John regrew his arm, Tech was only pissed for a long while), and it went well to everyone's relief.
🔥 Baphomet used the book adventures for a goodbye party for all his friends in which he would have a heroic sacrifice at the end that Tech sabotaged because even fictional death was not okay with him.
🔥 Baphomet spent his death day with Tech, which was fraught and emotional, and they said things you can't take back.
🔥 Baphomet didn't die.
🔥 Baphomet let everyone know he was still alive. He was kinda emotionally all worked out, except when Viktor briefly pissed him off on accident. Oh, and he pissed off a boat transformer about muppets.

🔥 Baphomet started the month in a cheery mood! He's alive! Woo!
🔥 He considered stealing a selkie skin for Tech but didn't. He ended up facing a version of Dio, which sucked balls given he already knows Dio is dead! Seriously?
🔥 Baphomet drank from a ghost well and faced the ghost of Ananke. It was over in like 5 seconds.
🔥 With Tech and Rhys, Baphomet faced The Morrigan and defeated her. This is when he got sick with the trials and his chipper attitude. At least he got a summoning bell for his troubles.

🔥 Viktor started making plans for his hydroponics garden, and Baphomet offered to help out and discussed matters.
🔥 Oh and there were some fae, he believes? However, the Wild Hunt was easy to avoid in the Underground, and Baphomet survived with a continuing no deaths record and also a new ability growing plants, which feels awfully Persephone-like to him. He misses Laura.

🔥 Baphomet got some good sleep this month because he volunteered to be Toge's insomnia test subject. Sleep sweet sleep.
🔥 In a fashion only Baphomet could, he managed to troll his way to breaking through to Power in detention. Because he was 100% willing to steal her blood while she slept or anything else in her list of crimes. He also realized that was exactly the same reasoning behind his Valentine's Day 2014 Dance with the Dead (his crime).
🔥 Baphomet discussed holidays with Kate, including what to get Tech, who is so hard to gift for. He wound up making a mini of Tech (it only took like 50 tries to get it right) and gave Kate her own private Christmas at the hot springs after Tech canceled Christmas because Jaskier was gone.
